Eaton Square Music Theory Club 2020
Autumn Term 2020 7.45am-8.45am Wednesdays (Half Term 21 & 28 Oct)
16 Sep, 23 Sep, 30 Sep, 7 Oct, 14 Oct, 4 Nov, 11 Nov, 18 Nov, 25 Nov, 2 Dec, 9 Dec
We are delighted to work in support of the busy and successful Music Department at Eaton Square, headed up by Music Director, Mrs Emma Saklatvala. Membership is by invitation from Mrs Saklatvala.
Using a combination of the acclaimed series of Chelsea Quavers’ Music Puzzles©, CHENGA!© the ABRSM Theory syllabus & Aural elements of ABBRSM Practical syllabus, pupils learn to read, write, transcribe, perform and compose music in a fun and engaging way. What pupils learn will greatly enhance their understanding of not only their instrument, but music as a whole. Each pupil progresses at his/her individual pace.
ABRSM Theory Exam Successes
85% of our pupils obtain a Distinction or Merit, and 15% obtain a Pass, in all ABRSM Theory Exams. ABRSM exams are recognised by Ofqual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator) which regulates all national public exams such as GCSEs and A-levels. Ofqual is responsible for accrediting qualifications offered by ‘awarding bodies’ such as ABRSM. All ABRSM graded music exam certificates bear the Ofqual logo. Small Tutor Groups
Small Tutor Groups of an average of 6 pupils to one Tutor provide for a healthy balance of 1:1 tuition and group interaction. Each pupil is given a personalised music folder in which to keep all their work and projects.
Tracking your Child’s Progress
Each week a summary of your child’s progress is recorded. This enables the Eaton Square Music Department to be kept fully informed, and we can provide parents with feedback at any given point during the term.
ABRSM Theory & Practical Exams
We prepare pupils to sit ABRSM Theory exams up to Grade 5 and beyond if required. We prepare pupils for the Aural & Sight Reading elements of Practical exams in all grades – both of which combine to attract approximately 22% of the overall Practical exam mark. For information on ABRSM Exam Accreditation click here.
Online Music Tuition with our Principal
Additional online music tuition by appointment. This is particularly useful for exam candidates, or for those pupils wishing to advance their learning. Available during term time, half-term or holidays.
If you would like to discuss your child’s membership please contact our Principal, Claire Meyer, at firstname.lastname@example.org, M 07899 6789 655 or click here to send a direct message. Alternatively, please contact Mrs Saklatvala at the school.
