All ABRSM Practical exams comprise assessment in the following four subjects
(iii) sight reading or sight singing
(iv) aural skills
Practical exams are marked out of a total of 150 points
Performance – three pieces each marked out of 30
Scales marked out of 21
Sight Reading marked out of 21
Aural skills marked out of 18
Sight Reading | Aural Training
Sight reading & aural skills combined represent approximately 22% of the overall exam marks. It is generally in these two areas where pupils require extra support because so often instrumental teachers have insufficient time in a private lesson of 30-45 minutes to cover all areas of assessment to a satisfactory level. It is in these two areas where Chelsea Quavers supports practical exam students.
We do not provide private or recommend instrumental Tutors; rather we work with pupils in support of their existing tuition.
